Nightmare Balloon Boy is a minor antagonist in the horror game Five Nights at Freddy's 4. He is one of the nightmare animatronics, twisted and frightening versions of characters from the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza franchise. Unlike most nightmare animatronics, he doesn't directly jumpscare the player in the main gameplay.

He appears as a distorted, nightmarish version of Balloon Boy, a character known for his laughter and tendency to steal the player's batteries in Five Nights at Freddy's 2. Nightmare Balloon Boy resides within the "Fun with Plushtrap" minigame, accessible after completing Night 3.

In the minigame, the player, controlling Plushtrap, must reach a designated "X" before time runs out. Nightmare Balloon Boy hinders progress, requiring the player to use audio cues to determine his location and prevent him from reaching Plushtrap.

Failure to stop Nightmare Balloon Boy results in a failure of the minigame and a reset of Plushtrap's position. Successful completion allows the player to skip the first two hours of the following night.
